About the event

This intensive 60-hour, 6-day course is designed to meet the technician-level job performance requirements (JPRs) established in the NFPA 1006 (2021 edition) standard for Technical Rescue Personnel Professional Qualifications. The course provides comprehensive training in the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform rescues at structural collapse scenes due to natural disasters or terrorist incidents.

The course curriculum is divided into three major topics:

1. Construct Emergency Shoring (Interior and Exterior)

Prior to attending this face-to-face training, students must successfully complete the Computer-Based Training (CBT) Structural Collapse Specialist (Technician) course, provided by TEEX, which is approximately 8 hours in duration.

The course content and terminology are aligned with the DHS/FEMA National US&R Response System curriculum, ensuring consistent training within the discipline of urban search and rescue (US&R).
