The Kitsap County Special Operations Response Team (KSORT) is a combined program of the 7 fire agencies having jurisdiction within Kitsap County:

KSORT provides technical rescue services to all of Kitsap county at the request of the local fire agency and is entirely funded by the participating agencies. KSORT fields a team of highly trained rescue technicians that can provide both advanced rescue services as well as advanced in-situ medical care to trapped victims.  KSORT trains to the standards set by the FEMA US&R program as well as the applicable technical standards for confined space, rope, structural collapse, and trench rescue.

KSORT is formed and authorized through an interlocal agreement between the 7 agencies, and each member organization provides funding, equipment, and personnel to operate the team.

KSORT works closely with other regional technical rescue teams to ensure a robust response is available for the citizens of Kitsap County.
